EDUCATION/ Schools Geology Challenge 2021 Final

Our 10th Schools Geology Challenge final took place on 18 March as a virtual event, with schools from across the nation and as far away as Malaysia taking part.

Students were asked to tackle a geological problem solving exercise and present their findings to a panel of judges. It was a close-run contest, however after much deliberation, the Alice Smith School were crowned as the winners, with both the Tiffin Girls School and Cirencester College named as runners-up.

Congratulations to all our winners and finalists!

LIBRARY/ E-Book of the month- Beaches and Coasts

This month we have chosen to highlight the excellent Beaches and Coasts as our e-book of the month. According to a recent review in Geoscientist, it is ‘a concise and informative book that summarises the nature of Earth’s different coastlines and has much to offer to those in advanced courses and working in coastal management.’

Fellows enjoy free access to many more great e-books from the Library via an OpenAthens account. If you’ve yet to register, simply download the registration form and return to the Library.
